Made in Hong Kong
As our plate filled up and our home overflowed with coriander seeds, demand grew quickly. We brought on Keith Lam, a fourth-generation Hong Kong family business owner, to join our team. Keith played a crucial role in setting up our factory, helping us navigate the local market, and bringing diversity to our team. Our fully operational processing facility, the first of its kind in Hong Kong, is now ready to produce Biltong, Droëwors. And with this, we see the sky as our only limit.
Our Name
It all began when we moved from South Africa to Hong Kong in 2005. The “H” in Hendrik Petrus translated easily to English—Aitch’s. Little did we know how this simple letter would change our lives.In 2020, when COVID brought the world to a standstill and fresh Biltong became impossible to find in Hong Kong, H.P. and I decided to put our heads together and solve the problem. Confined to our home, we “planted” coriander seeds, and our idea organically evolved into something much bigger than we ever imagined.Suddenly, the “H” in Hendrik became the name for the first Biltong manufacturer in Hong Kong—Aitch’s Biltong. And with this, we filled our plate with more than just Biltong; we added Droëwors and Chilli Bites to our offerings.— Bessa Odendaal, Co-founder of Aitch’s Biltong
