Creamy Biltong and Olive Spread
Having a delicious appetiser can elevate any meal, and this creamy biltong and olive spread is sure to impress. Whether paired with a glass of wine or served alongside your favourite crackers, it’s an easy-to-make treat that everyone will adore.
Ingredients
- 250g cream cheese
- 100g Extra Lean Biltong (or Wagyu Sliced Biltong with the fat removed)
- ½ small onion, finely chopped
- 8 basil leaves, finely chopped
- 10 pitted kalamata olives, halved
- 5g dried olives
- Juice of ½ a lemon
- Glug of extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Place the sliced biltong in a food processor and and blend until it becomes a fine powder.
- Mix the powdered biltong with all the other ingredients in a bowl until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a small bowl for sauces.
- Serve with crackers, carrot sticks, or celery.
This dish is incredibly versatile. Besides enjoying it as a dip or spread, you could also spread a tablespoon of the mixture between two or three crackers and serve as bite-sized snacks.
