Having a delicious appetiser can elevate any meal, and this creamy biltong and olive spread is sure to impress. Whether paired with a glass of wine or served alongside your favourite crackers, it’s an easy-to-make treat that everyone will adore.

 

 

Ingredients

  • 250g cream cheese
  • 100g Extra Lean Biltong (or Wagyu Sliced Biltong with the fat removed)
  • ½ small onion, finely chopped
  • 8 basil leaves, finely chopped
  • 10 pitted kalamata olives, halved
  • 5g dried olives
  • Juice of ½ a lemon
  • Glug of extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place the sliced biltong in a food processor and and blend until it becomes a fine powder.
  2. Mix the powdered biltong with all the other ingredients in a bowl until well combined.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a small bowl for sauces.
  4. Serve with crackers, carrot sticks, or celery.

This dish is incredibly versatile. Besides enjoying it as a dip or spread, you could also spread a tablespoon of the mixture between two or three crackers and serve as bite-sized snacks.
